Also known as Blanket Flowers, Gaillardia plants are probably named so because of their resemblance of Native American-made blankets. The color of the blossoms radiate from maroon at the center to a bright sunny yellow on the edge. This flowering plant belong to the sunflower family, and some blossoms come in solid colors like wind, orange, and peach.
